Tutorial: How to add an email address to Microsoft Outlook Express/2000

1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.

2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'

3. Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'

4. Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'

5. Enter your full email address username@my-domain-temple.net. (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next'.

6. Enter 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP) server:' field. Enter 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.

7. Enter your username jdoe@my-domain-temple.net' (Replace my-domain-temple.net with your domain.) in the 'Account name:' field. Enter your email password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'

8. As for the Import screen, if you do not want to import information click "Do not import at this time" and click "Next".

9. Click on "Finish"

10. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'

11. Highlight 'mail.my-domain-temple.net' under 'Account', and click 'Properties'.

12. Click the 'Servers' tab, and check the box next to 'My server requires authentication'. Then click on the "Settings" button.

13. Verify the Login Information is set to 'use same settings as my incoming mail server' then click 'OK'.

13. Click 'OK'. for the properties window now.
